Nick Schuerman
Mr. Schuerman holds a Bachelor’s degree in K–8 Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in School Leadership and Administration. With nearly a decade of experience teaching and leading in traditional district settings, he quickly established a reputation as a highly effective “turnaround principal.” His success in transforming underperforming schools earned him a coveted invitation to join New Schools for Phoenix, a competitive and rigorous leadership program run by the Arizona Charter Association.
Through this program, Mr. Schuerman founded Victory Collegiate Academy, a K–8 public charter school committed to delivering a whole-child education to underserved students in the Maryvale community.
Building on the success of Victory Collegiate Academy, he went on to establish five Victory Autism Academies and Escuela de Victoria (“School of Victory”) — the only school in its region of Mexico dedicated exclusively to children with special needs. He also launched Victory Futures Academy, a micro high school designed to offer continued, personalized education to students beyond eighth grade.
Mr. Schuerman’s passion for supporting at-risk, high-poverty, and special education students has been the driving force throughout his career. Early in his leadership journey, he founded his school district’s only autism program — a deeply meaningful initiative inspired by his own son, Conner, who is a high-functioning child on the autism spectrum. “While some districts and charters do their best to support students on the spectrum, many ASD students still need more tailored resources,” he says. Visiting the autism classrooms quickly became the highlight of his day.
Recently, the network of schools has rebranded as Victory Schools, uniting all campuses under a shared mission: to serve vulnerable and underserved populations with excellence and empathy. Mr. Schuerman’s personal journey, professional expertise, and unwavering advocacy make Victory Schools a dynamic and transformative choice for families seeking a specialized and inclusive educational experience.
